2010 T20

After a good T20 season, ending at 4 wins, 2 losses, and 1 abandoned game, the Broward boys ended up the 4th seed going into playoffs. Due to certain incidents and different priorities, we were only able to qualify 11 players for the players, missing key all-rounder Ricky Nayar and batsman Imran Samsair. But with all odds stacked against us we went to play the number one ranked team in the league, Atlantic.

Playing with only ten men (Rory, I hope Vegas was damn fun!!) we stepped up and brought home a win with an excellent display of fielding from Stevie, Anand with the bat slamming 16 of the 29 runs made off the bat, and myself, Anand and Anil with the ball, each of us bagging in between 1 and 3 wickets each (badman dont say 2.)

This is ours for the taking fellas and this time it will be done on our own and for ourselves and families. Lets dig deep and show these people what we can do when you play the game you love, with the people you love (no homo). Be proud of what we displayed on Sunday and we will make it happen week after week!

Finals are here!

Its been like a pay-per-view event that we have awaited almost a decade for. All the talk those many years ago about the "learning curve" and grooming younger players has finally paid dividends. Broward Cricket Club is proud to annouce that we have made it to the Finals!!!

Starting off 0-2 in this competition, with efforts all-round we bounced back and sneaked into the playoffs 4th seed. With a convincing win over the #1 seeded Coconut Creek despite all their tricks and "by-laws" we bulldozed through to the finals. Now we are set to face Atlantic CC, a club which we have an amazing relationship with. (no homo)

The two times that we faced off this season they won on each occassion but suffice it to say, they have another thing coming this time around because in both games we lacked our strongest team. The whole BCC family is excited for this match and we hope to get all your support on Sunday June 13th. Bring your folding chairs and coolers and come help us celebrate the end to a great season!

BCC touches Semi-Finals!!!

Here we are again, another season coming to a close and the BCC boys have made it to the Semi-Finals! After last season's disappointing loss, playing with 10 players, they will be hungry and looking to do justice this time around.

Pass the word along and tell everyone to come support and watch a good game of cricket.

Chalking up Centuries

BCC is proud to announce that in our past year of cricket there has been 5 centuries scored from 5 different players. The most recent has been Ricky Nayar scored a glorious 123, consisting of 10 fours and 1 six, against rival team Miramar Masters.
Ricky now holds the title of youngest player to score a century not only for BCC but in the FSCL also. We wish him the best of luck in the future and hope he continues to improve and succeed.

Congratulations

The BCC family would like to congratulate Ryan Edun in picking up 6 wickets against Lagaan on 2/07/2010. Ryan is now the second highest wicket taker in an innings behind Uncle Fagu. Ryan bowled an impressive spell which consisted of one caught behind, one caught & bowled, one bolwed, and 3 catches in the field. After the end of his 8 overs 45 runs were given away. We hope Ryan can continue to improve and that this performance carries on to the following games.

(see Nick: we always knew he was number 2.... lmao)
